Will ShopCAM® work with my current CAD system? 
Yes, ShopCAM® will read files generated from any version of AutoCAD, Solid Works, CadKey and any other major CAD program that supports DXF and IGS file translation. 

What are ShopCAM®'s 3D capabilities? 
Since ShopCAM® is a shop floor programming system, it is designed to help machinists maximize their programming abilities. ShopCAM® includes several powerful 3D tool path utilities, but does not create NURBS based surfaces. Even if you occasionally machine sculptured surfaces, you will still need ShopCAM® for everything else because it's so much faster. Even without NURBS surfaces, you'll be surprised at just how much you ShopCAM® will do for your 3D surfaces. 

How accurate is the machine code? 
There isn't a machine out there for which we cannot write a 100% accurate post processor. 

Do Post Processors cost extra? 
ShopCAM® includes around 100 standard post processors, free of charge. If your machine or control is not covered, or if you have special requirements, we can custom tune a post processor for a modest fee. Having a post "custom tuned" is always worth the small, one-time investment. 

Can ShopCAM® convert code from one machine to another? 
Yes. If the code was originally created in ShopCAM®, it's a simple matter of selecting a different post processor from the menu. 
If the code was created outside of ShopCAM®, you can read the code into ShopCAM® then post it for a different machine. 

Can ShopCAM® calculate Cycle Times? 
Yes, ShopCAM® is used to help make customer quotations more accurate. There are several options within this function that will allow you to evaluate very specific aspects of your machining operations.
