In addition to all the standard features we have enhanced the system with the following:
No need to redefine the same operation over and over. Shopcam allows you to save the operations in a library file. In addition to the over 80 standard parameters, all the info needed to generate or regenerate a toolpath is saved. Even the info from cycles like engraving, threading, and helix are saved. Control buttons allow you to save your operation to the library and update the operation file immediately. In addition to using opers from the library, you can use operations from the part file. This feature will save a lot of time and money.
The new operation dialog displays all of the info needed to generate the toolpath on one easy to navigate screen. The most relevant info is displayed on the primary page. The parameters that are not used as often, are only one button click away.. A handy graphic is displayed to remind you of the input parameters and how they relate to the actual path. A text field is included so you may enter operation specific information or instructions. Unlike the old revision, all the information needed to regenerate an toolpath is stored with the operation.
Quickly select a tool from either the tool library or a tool you have already used. Control buttons allow you to save your tool to the library and save immediately. Since you can build your libraries ‘on the fly’ the more you use Shopcam, the easier it will be. The tool picture will show the tool type and relevant parameters. No need for a tool chart. Best of all, you can save a feed (XY & Z) and a RPM for each tool. Either let Shopcam calculate the feeds/speeds or use the ones stored in the tool library, or enter anything you prefer.
A detailed setup sheet may be printed. Along with the standard tooling information, you can print the operation information. This is printed with an external program. That means we can modify the output to meet your specific needs. Only the new report program would need to be delivered and not the entire system.
Even the Setup file dialog box has been improved. You can select a default operation library. Add or delete the tool library or material library with one click. Important values are on the front page for easy editing. Default parameters are displayed for reference and may be easily modified with one click. Old setup files are upward compatible
After you have generated your G-
Toolpath Simulation is more than just a pretty face. With one click you can instantly change the color of the model to reflect the surface left by each tool. All rapid tool movement is shown in red. This helps with collision avoidance, gouging, and toolpath strategies. If for any reason you attempt to rapid though uncut areas, the path is displayed in bright red. Allowing you to correct the problem before it gets to the machine.
